James is the founder and Managing Partner of Slate Legal and has over 20 years’ experience as an employment lawyer.
James studied law at King’s College London and at the Sorbonne in Paris before embarking on a training contract at international law firm, Eversheds back in 1998. James has since worked for leading employment law firms Capital Law and TLT and was Partner and Head of Employment at Acuity Legal in Cardiff for several years before deciding to launch his own specialist employment practice, Slate Legal.
Over the years, James has successfully acted for a number of high profile employer and employee clients at all levels across England and Wales, covering a wide range of employment issues.

Outside of work, James enjoys being a dad to his three young energetic sons, hiking in the Brecon Beacons, windsurfing and, as a fluent French speaker and Francophile, holidaying in France.
